Jagan Seeks Court’s Permission for UK Trip in January 2025

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has filed a petition in the CBI court seeking permission to travel abroad. He has requested to visit the United Kingdom from January 11 to 25, 2025, along with his family. His daughters are currently pursuing higher studies in the UK.

The CBI court has directed the CBI officials to file a counter response to the petition. Further arguments will take place after the CBI’s reply.

Jagan, who is an accused in a disproportionate assets case, is required to seek court approval for any overseas travel. As part of his bail conditions in this case, the court had imposed a restriction preventing him from leaving the country without prior permission. Consequently, Jagan must seek the court’s consent before making any international travel arrangements.

This isn’t the first time Jagan has sought such permission. On previous occasions, he has filed similar petitions whenever he planned to travel abroad, and only proceeded after obtaining the necessary court clearance.

In fact, during the period between the 2024 Andhra Pradesh general elections and the announcement of results, Jagan had traveled abroad with his family. His itinerary reportedly included visits to the UK, Switzerland, and France between May 17 and June 1, 2024. Now, Jagan plans another trip to the UK, pending the court’s approval.
