When former chief minister late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy introduced Arogya Sri scheme and expanded the 108 EMRI ambulance services to every nook and corner of Andhra Pradesh, it created a sensation.
Especially when YSR used to imitate the siren of ambulances – Kuin, Kuin, Kuin, Kuin – while addressing the gatherings, it was a roaring success and the people still remember his mannerisms while enjoying the ambulance services even in rural areas.
Now, his son and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to invoke the same magic of his father to attract the rural masses.
On Wednesday, he directed the officials to provide the emergency health services to all parts of the state.
He said 108 ambulance services will be on roll on from July 1 along with two wheeler services as part of Telemedicine to every nook and corner of Andhra Pradesh.
He said on July 1, as many as 1060 new vehicles of 108 ambulances would be launched along with the two-wheeler bikes to deliver medical services as part of the Telemedicine.
He stressed the need for providing emergency health care services like Chemotherapy, Dialysis and pre- and post-natal services to pregnant women during lockdown.
Officials informed that all these services have been made available for the patients as per schedule.
Even the services of Asha workers and village volunteers are being utilised in identifying such cases and extending medical support.
