Jagan’s close relative and Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy might go down as someone who sets a very bad example for attending the Lok Sabha. He has a poor attendance record of just 32 per cent. This is the lowest percentage of attendance among the 25 MPs from Andhra Pradesh.
During the last two years, he has participated in only one debate. Bapatla MP Nandigam Suresh has just 45 per cent attendance in Lok Sabha. He too has participated in only one debate. He did not ask even a single question in the last two years. According to the records compiled by PRS, a parliamentary research organisation that assays the participatory levels of the MPs, Raghuramakrishnam Raju has the best record. The MP, who has fallen out with the party and is behaving as a rebel, has 96 per cent attendance. He has also participated in more than 50 debates. He has asked145 questions.
Only Vanga Geetha of Kakinada is comparable to RRR in terms of participation. She had participated in 37 debates and asked 173 questions during the last two years, according to the PRS.
Interestingly, the TDP MPs are doing quite better when it comes to participation in the Lok Sabha. Guntur MP Galla Jayadev has notched up a decent attendance percentage of 89. He had participated in 54 debates and had asked 133 questions so far. Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani too has the same attendance percentage. Another MP Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu has already made a mark as an orator in both English and Hindi.
