YS Jagan, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and President of YSR Congress, had a busy day today as he visited the Vijayawada District Jail to meet his party’s ex-MLA, Vallabhaneni Vamsi, who was arrested in connection with a kidnapping case.
After meeting Vamsi during the Mulaqat session, Jagan addressed the media and expressed his views on the issue, making some notable remarks.
Jagan claimed that Vallabhaneni Vamsi’s arrest was indicative of the worsening law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh. He downplayed the serious crime that was allegedly committed by Vamsi’s group, including an attack and vandalism of the TDP office in Gannavaram, suggesting that it shouldn’t be overly exaggerated.
“Vamsi has no connection to this case. Even the statement from Sathya Vardhan, the alleged victim, does not mention Vamsi’s name. Chandrababu has always been intent on arresting Vamsi by any means, which is why a false case was filed against him. If the victim himself has withdrawn the case, how can the government proceed with this staged case and arrest him?” Jagan asserted.
The Pulivendula MLA also accused Chandrababu of orchestrating unrest by instigating Pattabi, which led to the attack on the TDP office in Gannavaram. Jagan insisted that Vamsi was in no way involved in the attack.
In a shocking statement, Jagan declared that he would not spare anyone involved in the case and issued a stern warning to the Andhra Pradesh police. “Anyaayam chesina vallani battalu oodadeesi nilabedatham. Retire ayyina, out of country vellina, ikkadiki techi nilabedatham,” he said, meaning, “We will strip those who committed injustice and make them stand. Even if they retire or leave the country, we will bring them back and hold them accountable.”
The strong language used by Jagan against the police department, coming from a former Chief Minister, is quite extraordinary and might not reflect well on his public image. His harsh remarks, while meant to send a warning, could potentially harm his reputation and credibility in the eyes of the public.
