A shocking incident from Thane has sparked widespread outrage, with a disturbing video of violence going viral on social media. In the footage, a man identified as Gokul Jha is seen violently assaulting a 25-year-old hospital receptionist in Kalyan. He is caught on camera running toward the woman, brutally kicking her and dragging her by the hair, while onlookers try to intervene. Following the video’s circulation, the Thane Police registered a case against Jha based on an official complaint.
In a development to the case, another video emerged allegedly showing the receptionist involved in a verbal spat with Jha’s sister-in-law shortly before the attack. However, the brutal nature of the assault has overshadowed the context, drawing sharp criticism from all corners, including celebrities.
Actress Janhvi Kapoor strongly condemned the incident through her social media handle. “This man needs to be in jail. What makes anyone believe this behaviour is acceptable? What kind of mindset allows such cruelty without any remorse or guilt?” she questioned, expressing disbelief and anger.
She added, “It’s a disgrace. And a bigger shame on society if we fail to punish such actions strictly and swiftly. There’s no justification for this violence.” Her bold statement resonated with many, with netizens praising her for speaking out and joining the demand for stringent action.
