The tragic demise of actress and model Shefali Jariwala, known for her iconic appearance in Kaanta Laga, has unfortunately been sensationalized by certain sections of the media. The intrusive and insensitive manner in which her passing was reported has sparked criticism within the film fraternity.
Actor Varun Dhawan voiced his disapproval through a strongly worded post on social media. “Once again, the passing of a soul is being covered insensitively by the media. I just don’t understand why grief has to be broadcast this way. Everyone looks uncomfortable. How is this benefitting anyone?” he questioned, calling for dignity and respect in such moments of personal loss. He urged the media to rethink how they report on someone’s final journey.
Actress Janhvi Kapoor echoed his sentiment, reposting Varun’s message with the comment, “Finally, someone said it,” highlighting the growing frustration among celebrities over the lack of empathy in certain media practices.
On the professional front, Janhvi is currently part of the upcoming pan-Indian film Peddi, directed by Uppena fame Buchi Babu Sana and starring Ram Charan. She was last seen alongside Jr NTR in Devara, her debut pan-India project, which marked her entry into South Indian cinema.
