Director Puri Jagannadh has largely stayed away from the spotlight following the back-to-back setbacks of Liger and Double iSmart. Once known for his fast-paced filmmaking and steady output, the filmmaker has entered a relatively quiet phase, with little clarity on his next theatrical release.

Earlier, he announced a project titled Slumdog: 33 Temple Road featuring actor Vijay Sethupathi, which initially sparked curiosity among audiences. However, after the official announcement, there has been minimal update from the team, leading to ongoing speculation about the film’s current status.

According to internal sources, the film has reportedly been completed in all aspects. The shoot is said to be wrapped, post-production work finished, songs locked, and the final copy ready. Despite this, the makers are believed to be holding back on promotions for strategic reasons.

One of the key reasons cited for the delay is the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections. The team is reportedly waiting for the election period to conclude before beginning promotional activities, aiming for better timing and visibility in the market.

In addition, another source suggests that business negotiations are also playing a role in the delay. OTT rights and distribution deals are reportedly still being finalized, which is further contributing to the postponement of official promotional announcements.
