Just like the novel corona virus affected the whole country, now the farmers’ movement in the country is also affecting every industry. The impact on the film industry was such that the shooting of actor Shahid Kapoor’s next film ‘Jersey’ in Chandigarh, Punjab had to be halted forcibly due to farmers’ agitation.
His team started shooting in Chandigarh last month but had to leave the city before the schedule was completed. After the farmer outrage triggered, the traffic on the roads and the business of people were closed, due to which the team had to rescind shooting.
According to information received from sources, the makers of ‘Jersey’, the director of the film, Gautam Tinnanuri, Shahid Kapoor, Mrinal Thakur and the rest of the film crew planned to fly to Dehradun and Kasauli to resume filming.
However, the film ‘Jersey’ also has a lot of shooting on the cricket ground. So the makers have to head back to Chandigarh. The film has about three days of shooting remaining in Chandigarh, which would be continued after farmers’ protest. The scenes shot on the cricket field are also crucial because Shahid Kapoor plays a retired cricketer in the film.
