JJN 5 Days BO: Good, But Not Enough

Thanks to Boyapati Sreenu’s popularity among masses, his latest film ‘Jaya Janaki Nayaka’ opened to decent collections and had a steady run over the 5-day extended weekend.

The action romantic entertainer collected a share of Rs 13 crore in the 5-day weekend. Below is the area wise break up of distributor share.

Nizam – 4,05,00,000
Ceded – 2,62,00,000
Nellore – 65,00,000
Guntur – 1,21,00,000
Krishna – 74,95,000
West – 88,80,000
East – 97,57,000
Uttharandhra – 1,83,00,000

Total 5 days AP & TG Share – 12.97cr

The box office performance of the film could have been termed good had not for the high costs involved. Made on a high budget, the distribution rights of JJN were sold for approx 28 crore in the Telugu states alone. So, the film still needs to recover over 60 percent of buyers’ investment.

We have to see how well the Boyapati directorial holds up at box office. Coming Friday, there is only one notable release, Anando Brahma, so there is scope for JJN to hold its ground in theatres.
