CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy has directed the SPs of the districts to go to the SC and ST colonies once a week along with the collectors. They were advised to meet the people there and find out their well-being. He said this would bring the police closer to the oppressed sections.
After state bifurcation, for the first time, a state-level High Power Vigilance and Monitoring Committee meeting was held at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of CM YS Jagan on the implementation of the Prevention of Harassment Act on SCs and STs.
Jagan said that the government will provide financial assistance to victims in cases of harassment from time to time. Jagan announced that from now on, jobs would be provided to the SC and ST families of the victims of rape and murder cases.
