Former minister and YSRCP leader Jogi Ramesh, who was recently arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in connection with the spurious liquor case, reportedly came well-prepared for the interrogation.
According to sources, SIT officials, along with the police, questioned Jogi Ramesh and his brother Ramu separately for nearly 11 hours. However, throughout the intense session, Ramesh stuck to one standard line of defense — “Telidhu… Gurthuledhu… Marchipoya!” (“Don’t know… Don’t remember… Forgot!”).
Jogi Ramesh is said to have denied all allegations, asserting that he had no involvement whatsoever in the case. He reportedly told investigators that he was being targeted for political reasons, recalling how he once protested in front of Chandrababu Naidu’s residence, and claiming that even his son had been implicated in the Agrigold lands case due to political vendetta.
When asked about his alleged connection with key accused Addhepalli Janardhan Rao, Ramesh reportedly insisted that he didn’t know him personally, had no business or financial links, and couldn’t recall when or how he might have met him. Even after officers showed him viral photos of the two together, he allegedly maintained his stance, claiming he had no idea how those images surfaced.
The SIT is said to be analyzing the evidence further, while Jogi Ramesh’s repeated denials have sparked debate over whether he is being cornered politically or genuinely has no role in the scandal.
