Fans of the John Wick franchise have reason to celebrate, as Lionsgate has officially confirmed the development of John Wick: Chapter 5. The upcoming installment is expected to be another high-octane action-packed adventure, keeping the adrenaline-fueled legacy of the series alive.
Jenefer Brown, Head of Global Products & Experiences at Lionsgate, made the announcement during a preview event for the John Wick Experience in Las Vegas. Addressing the fate of the titular character, Brown stated, “We’re developing a fifth John Wick film … [John Wick] may be [dead]. We are all on bated breath waiting to find out.”
While John Wick: Chapter 4 left fans heartbroken with the protagonist’s apparent demise, this new development has reignited hope and speculation. Given the franchise’s massive popularity, it seems inevitable that Lionsgate would push forward with another installment.
Moreover, the studio is in dire need of a major blockbuster, following a string of underwhelming releases, including The Crow, Borderlands, Megalopolis, Never Let Go, and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.
