Tollywood star Jr NTR recently made his Bollywood debut, appearing alongside Hrithik Roshan in War 2. Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra, Jr NTR impressed audiences with his portrayal of Vikram in the high-octane action thriller.
However, despite the hype surrounding the War sequel, War 2 did not achieve the blockbuster status that many had expected. Jr NTR’s Bollywood debut faced unexpected setbacks, leaving fans and industry observers noting that things didn’t go as planned.
Before the release of War 2, there were numerous reports circulating on social media about Jr NTR’s future in Bollywood. Rumors suggested that he would collaborate with Yash Raj Films for another solo project, with the company reportedly planning a big-budget production. At the same time, whispers hinted at Jr NTR pursuing a solo Bollywood film outside of the Yash Raj banner, with an official announcement expected soon.
After War 2’s release, the scenario seems to have changed. The film received mixed reviews from the very first show and is unlikely to recover its costs fully, leading to speculation that the Yash Raj Spy Universe project may have become a costly miss. As a result, Jr NTR’s potential solo Bollywood project is reportedly on hold, with final decisions expected after a complete assessment of War 2’s performance.
Meanwhile, Jr NTR continues to have several major projects lined up in Tollywood, leaving little room for a full-fledged Bollywood venture in the near term. Fans and industry insiders will have to wait to see whether he eventually takes on a solo Bollywood film or focuses entirely on his Telugu commitments.
