For years, speculation surrounded her long break from films, with rumors suggesting that Suriya’s family discouraged her from working post-marriage. However, Jyothika recently addressed these claims, setting the record straight.
“There was always an assumption that Suriya and his family didn’t want me to work after marriage, but that wasn’t the case,” she clarified. “Though I had made my decision to step back, it was always Suriya who was questioned about my return to films.” She also shared a heartwarming anecdote about how Suriya supported her career. “Whenever my old films aired on TV, people would message him saying, ‘Jo’s film is on, she’s amazing! Why don’t you let her act?’ And he would immediately forward those messages to me,” she recalled.
With her career gaining momentum once again, Jyothika is set to star in the highly anticipated Shaitaan sequel and an upcoming Amazon Prime series, backed by Excel Entertainment. As she embraces this new phase, fans are eagerly looking forward to seeing more of her on screen.
