Kalvakuntla Kavitha, once a prominent face of BRS and the daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister KCR, now finds herself in an uncertain political space. From being a key player in state politics, she has slipped into the position of a leader without party backing, searching for a platform to revive her career.
Speculation initially pointed towards Congress or BJP as her next possible move. However, given the ongoing liquor scam allegations against her, both national parties appear reluctant to onboard her. For them, aligning with Kavitha not only means taking on her legal baggage but also facing criticism of attempting to exploit rifts within the KCR family—an image neither Congress nor BJP wants at this juncture.
Interestingly, KA Paul, president of the Praja Shanti Party, has openly invited Kavitha to join his BC-oriented party. He even urged her to stand beside him and rebuild her career under his leadership. While this offer exists, it appears unlikely that Kavitha would consider it a serious option, given her stature and political aspirations.
As things stand, Kavitha is at a critical juncture. With major parties unwilling to extend support and time running out, her next step will decide whether she can reclaim her political relevance—or fade into the background.
