Political parties and leaders often batt about taking his legacy further. After Bharatiya Janata Party and Super Star Rajinikanth claimed to take the legacy of MGR forward, one more leader has the same claim.
Actor-turned-politician and Makkal Needhi Maiam chief Kamal Haasan said MGR is the people’s asset and he will take forward the legacy of the great leader.
Well, this is not the first time, Kamal Haasan spoke about MGR. His ongoing political campaign revolved around MGR. He claimed to make Madhurai, the second capital of Tamil Nadu if he comes to power.
Makka Needhi Maiam even took to Twitter to share a video in which MGR can be seen garlanding Kamal Haasan at an award function. In the video, MGR kissed Kamal on his forehead.
Looks like, even after three decades after his demise, his name still has political relevance, and parties and leaders want to improve their political mileage by using his name.
