Bollywood’s firebrand actress Kangana Ranaut has been surprisingly silent in recent times. After winning the parliamentary elections last year and becoming an MP, her appearances in films and industry-related discussions have reduced drastically. She has been staying away from mainstream cinema, except for the release of her long-delayed project Emergency. While many expected Kangana to create a buzz with her trademark fiery statements during the film’s release, she chose a low-key approach, and the movie arrived quietly despite the controversies it faced during production.
As an active MP now, Kangana seems to be distancing herself from commercial roles. However, she hasn’t given up on cinema entirely. Reports suggest she is planning to focus on strong women-oriented scripts. Reliable sources reveal that Kangana has already given her nod for sequels to two of her most popular films. Among them, the much-loved Queen will soon get a sequel. Preparations are underway, and the film is likely to go on floors by the end of this year. With the original being a massive hit, the announcement of Queen 2 is expected to create a huge buzz.
In a recent interaction with a Bollywood media outlet, Kangana confirmed her excitement about revisiting her iconic roles. She stated that Queen holds a very special place in her heart, and she is ready for its sequel. She also expressed her willingness to continue with the Tanu Weds Manu franchise, which she considers one of the most important films of her career. With Tanu Weds Manu 2 already released earlier, fans are now eager for the possibility of a third installment in the coming years.
According to industry reports, Queen 2 will be directed by Vikas Bahl, who also helmed the original. The filmmaker has reportedly completed the script and is currently finalizing locations as part of pre-production. Casting and technical crew selections will follow soon. Kangana has been asked to allot around 40 to 50 days for the shoot, with the team aiming to wrap up the project quickly given her limited availability as an MP. A similar strategy is likely to be applied for Tanu Weds Manu 3 as well.
With Kangana’s return to her iconic franchises, fans are eagerly waiting to see her blend her political career with selective but powerful roles in Bollywood.
