Kangana Ranaut is making headlines for both positive and challenging reasons. On one hand, the actress is preparing to launch a cafe in Manali on Valentine’s Day, calling it one of the “most special projects” of her life. The announcement has sparked excitement among fans, and a sneak peek into the cozy space promises to make it a popular hangout spot for food lovers and admirers alike.
However, on the other hand, Kangana is facing legal troubles. The Mumbai court recently gave her “one last chance” to appear in the ongoing defamation case filed by veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar. The case, which dates back to 2020, centers around Kangana’s controversial statements about a 2016 meeting with Akhtar, which he has denied. Despite multiple absences from crucial court hearings, Kangana’s lawyer, Rizwan Siddiquee, explained that her absence was due to her “parliamentary commitments.” Nevertheless, Akhtar’s lawyer, Jay K Bhardwaj, urged the court to take action, pointing out the repeated no-shows. The court has now granted Kangana a final opportunity to resolve the case before further legal consequences are considered.
The legal dispute stems from Kangana’s claims that Akhtar pressured her into issuing an apology, leading her to file a counter-complaint. Although both parties had agreed to mediation in December 2024, the process has not materialized, and the case remains delayed, with Kangana’s repeated absences only complicating matters further.
Despite the ongoing courtroom drama, Kangana is forging ahead with her career. In addition to her cafe opening, she will soon be reuniting with R. Madhavan for a fresh project, exciting fans of her popular Tanu Weds Manu franchise. Through all the ups and downs, Kangana is maintaining her fierce determination, poised to balance both her business ventures and legal challenges in the coming months.
