After the massive success of Kantara and the KGF franchise, Kannada cinema has seen a significant rise in national recognition. However, the much-anticipated prequel, Kantara: Chapter 1, has recently been surrounded by unfortunate controversies and tragic incidents.
In a heartbreaking turn of events, actor Rakesh Poojary, known for winning Comedy Kiladigalu Season 3, passed away due to a heart attack on Sunday evening. The incident occurred during a mehendi ceremony in Nitte near Udupi, where Rakesh had gone to attend a wedding. He had recently wrapped up shooting for Kantara: Chapter 1 and was reportedly in good spirits before the sudden health emergency. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he was declared dead shortly after.
This tragedy comes on the heels of another sorrowful incident involving a junior artist from the same film, who drowned while swimming in a river during a break from filming. While both deaths occurred outside the film sets, they have cast a shadow over the project, drawing attention for the wrong reasons.
Kantara: Chapter 1, despite being a highly awaited film, now finds itself in the spotlight amid these unfortunate events. The industry and fans alike are mourning the loss of two talented individuals who were part of this cinematic journey.
