There’s no stopping Kantara: Chapter 1 at the box office, as the film continues to dominate during its second weekend. While weekday collections saw a dip, the movie bounced back strongly on Saturday and Sunday. The underwhelming performance of new releases like Sasivadane, Constable, and Ari also drove audiences to choose Kantara. Pawan Kalyan’s OG remains the only other major film running successfully in theatres.
Kantara is not just performing well in Telugu; it is also making waves in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam, with Karnataka witnessing a true rampage. The film crossed the ₹500 crore mark in just 10 days of release and is expected to collect another ₹200–300 crore in the coming days.
While a blockbuster in India, the film is struggling to break even in the United States due to high advance costs. Initial Hindi collections were slow, but Rishab Shetty’s visits to single screens in North India and constant media interactions have helped boost earnings.
