Why Kapu Factor Failed To Help Janasena?

Many thought that the arrival of Pawan Kalyan will take the huge Kapu vote with him. And that vote should cut the chances of either YSRC or TDP. Nothing such happened, however, as Janasena itself got no such Kapu votes.

Sample this: At one point of time, Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan thought of contesting from Eluru constituency, the headquarter of West Godavari district as there are nearly 70% Kapu population there. And all the top three parties have roped in Kapu candidates only, including Alla Nani (YSRC), Badeti Bujji (TDP) and Reddy Appalnaidu (Janasena). While Nani got 71000+ votes, Badeti fetched 67000+ votes and 16500+ voted for Appalnaidu. Going by the numbers, we have to say that most of the Kapu votes got divided between YSRC and TDP candidates, but only a few hardcore fans picked Janasena. Wonder why?

Because Pawan said he’s not casteist, and hence Kapu community didn’t vote for his party, say local experts. At least he should have done some closed door meetings with Kapu community and make sure that they vote to him. At the same time, Pawan didn’t do anything to woo other communities as well.

At a time when caste-feeling is quite stronger, Pawan should have got close to any of the castes such that his poll equations would have been better.
