Filmmaker Karan Johar recently opened up about the loneliness of singlehood and his search for love during his appearance on Sania Mirza’s chat show Serving It Up with Sania.

Karan shared that there was a phase in his life when he desperately longed for companionship and went through heartbreak as well as one-sided love. He also revealed that several people suggested he look for love abroad, but his responsibilities kept him rooted in India.

“Go where? I live here. I have a mom and two kids. I have to stay here,” he said.

Karan admitted that loneliness is still something he feels even today.
“You feel the loneliest during your highs, not your lows. Eating alone is another thing that reminds you of loneliness,” he added.

Through his candid conversation, Karan shed light on the emotional challenges behind the glamour, reminding many that success doesn’t always shield one from solitude.
