The recent local body corporation elections in Andhra Pradesh saw a clear victory for the ruling NDA alliance, maintaining the trend of the incumbent party holding sway in such elections. However, the YCP camp has been visibly shaken by this result, responding with dramatic statements and cinematic rhetoric.
Kasu Mahesh Reddy, a senior YCP leader from the Palnadu region, has stirred up the conversation with a bold statement. He declared that Chief Minister Jagan is meticulously keeping track of every political development, especially the alleged wrongdoings of TDP leaders. “Jagan is recording everything. He has noted every atrocity committed by TDP leaders. He may appear silent, but he is well aware of what’s happening in Andhra Pradesh and how the NDA ecosystem is targeting us. When our time comes, we will hit back, and that’s when the real game begins,” Mahesh Reddy stated.
His remarks come amid YCP’s accusations that the AP police are aligning with the NDA government, targeting YCP leaders who are resisting pressure. Interestingly, this is happening at a time when the previous YCP government was accused of misusing its power and the police department during earlier elections, notably in the corporation polls where several TDP leaders were allegedly victimized. A senior political analyst pointed out the irony in the situation, highlighting the reversal of roles and the strong rhetoric now being used by the YCP camp.
