Kavitha Back In Action In Public!

It has been a long time since Kalvakuntla Kavitha, former Telangana Rashtra Samithi MP from Nizamabad and daughter of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was seen in public actively.

Ever since she was defeated in the Lok Sabha elections in 2019, Kavitha was hardly seen in any official programme or party programmes, except an occasional visit to Nizamabad.

Even as her brother K T Rama Rao has been very active in the official and party programmes, Kavitha was nowhere to be seen.

She was not even seen in the Bonalu and Bathukamma celebrations last year nor did she visit Sammakka Saralamma jatara in Medaram this year.

Her Telangna Jagruthi also has hardly taken up any activities and she was hardly seen anywhere in the state.

It is learnt Kavitha has constructed her own farmhouse on the city outskirts and has been spending time mostly there.

However, she has started appearing in public after she was nominated as the TRS candidate in MLC elections from Nizamabad. Yet, she was not seen much due to Covid-19 pandemic.

However, Kavitha has now decided to make more public appearances hereafter, sources said. She would be leading an agitation of Singareni Coal mine workers on Friday, opposing the recent decision of the Centre to privatise 42 coal mines across the country.

The mine workers would be staging protests at all mines of Singareni Collieries under the aegis of Telangana Boggu Gani Karmika Sangham (TBGKS) of which Kavitha was the former honorary president.

She called upon the coal mine workers to burn the effigies of the Central government at all the Singareni coal mines on Friday.

“The coal mine workers will participate in the 24-hour strike on June 2, to highlight the issue and attract nation’s attention,” she said in a statement.
