Kavitha back in the people, thanks to Corona!

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter and former Nizamabad MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha had stopped going into the people of her constituency ever since she was defeated by the Bharatiya Janata party candidate Dharmapuri Aravind in May last year.

She was obviously upset with the people of Nizamabad for not showing any gratitude towards her despite her service to the people during her five-year tenure and the recognition she had brought to the district through her Telangana Jagruthi activities.

But now, Kavitha has no option but to be back in Nizamabad, as she is contesting the by-elections to the MLC seat from the local bodies’ constituency in the district. Though the TRS has handsome majority in the local bodies, she has to ensure a comprehensive victory.

At the same time, she has to win back the confidence of the people again so that by 2024, she has to win the Lok Sabha elections again.

So, Kavitha has started actively involving herself in the social service activities in Nizamabad again. The present situation in the district due to Coronavirus spread has given an opportunity for her to be back into the people.

On Thursday, Kavitha launched three free food centres in Nizamabad and Jagitial districts. Nizamabad Mayor Nithu Kiran opened free food centre at Nizamabad, to ensure that no one goes hungry, especially the daily wage workers and migrant workers in the district.

On the other hand, Jagitial ZP Chairperson Dhavaa Vasantha Suresh, MLA Sanjay Kumar and others participated in the launch of free food centre at Jagitial government hospital.

Free food centre at Metpally Government hospital was started by Telangana Jagruthi leaders. The free meals programme at government hospitals for the benefit of patients’ attendants, migrant workers has come as a sigh of relief to the people of Nizamabad and Jagitial districts.

Free food is being served to the poor, students, homeless and destitute during the 21-day nationwide lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

As all hotels, food courts are currently shut across the Nizamabad and Jagitial districts and the attendants of poor patients are finding it difficult to find food, Kavitha extended the free meals scheme to poor people.
