Kalvakuntla Kavitha, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Legislative Council member and founder of Telangana Jagruthi, has made a bold statement regarding her political future, expressing her ambition to become the Chief Minister of Telangana after her father, K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR). In a candid podcast interview with a Telugu television channel, Kavitha revealed that while KCR remains the party’s undisputed leader and CM, she would be in the race for the top post when the time comes.

“As long as KCR is there, he will be the Chief Minister. After him, I will be in the race. It may take five, ten, or even twenty years, but I will wait for my time,” she said.

Kavitha categorically ruled out the possibility of floating a new political party, reiterating her unwavering commitment to the BRS. “It is my party. Why should I quit to form another party?” she asserted, signaling her determination to strengthen the party from within.

Acknowledging internal discord, she warned that certain individuals within BRS were harming the organization. She described them as “demons” and cautioned that retaining such elements could jeopardize the party’s future.

Speaking on recent allegations of phone tapping, Kavitha said there was a possibility that her phone and those of her family members were surveilled. However, she suggested that if it did occur, it was likely without her father’s knowledge and could have been orchestrated by lower-level officials.

Reflecting on her defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Nizamabad, Kavitha blamed internal sabotage by party leaders and criticized the BRS leadership for their lack of support during her arrest in the Delhi liquor scam. “I was left to face everything alone,” she said, expressing deep disappointment over the silence of senior party members during her legal ordeal.

Looking ahead, Kavitha announced her intent to contest as an MLA in the upcoming elections. She emphasized her continued engagement with people at the grassroots level and reaffirmed her commitment to public service. Additionally, she unveiled plans to revive and expand Telangana Jagruthi, the social service organization she founded, with a renewed focus on state-wide outreach.

Kavitha’s remarks mark a significant moment in Telangana politics, shedding light on the internal dynamics of the BRS and hinting at a new phase in her political journey.
