For context, the TASMAC scam involves a massive financial fraud linked to the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation, which oversees liquor distribution in the state. The investigation has revealed illegal transactions exceeding Rs. 1000 crore, including inflated tenders and bribes involving politicians, bureaucrats, and distilleries.
