KCR Lures TDP’s CM Candidate

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is making all out efforts to bring the senior TDP leader and MLA R Krishnaiah into his party fold. Following reports that the strong leader in BC community in Telangana is planning to float a separate party aiming to unite all BCs, KCR intensified talks with the leader and offered plum posts.

Krishnanaiah was the Chief Minister candidate to the TDP in Telangana in 2014 elections. The party Chief N Chandrababu Naidu also projected the BC leader as face of the party in the last elections.

KCR is of the strong opinion that farmation of a BC party will dent TRS winning prospects in next elections. The Chief Minister already announced slew of sops for BCs and attracted these communities towards him. If Krishnaiah floated the party his efforts will yield no results.

Leaders said Krishnaiah was offered Rajya Sabha MP post in the biennial elections to be held March this year. KCR also promised the BC leader of minister post in his cabinet in the second term of TRS government. However, the BC leader did not take any decision on joining TRS so far. A clarity on whether Krishnaiah join KCR’s bandwagon will come only after Budget session in February.
