Why is KCR not backing federal front allies?

During the campaigning for recent Lok Sabha elections in the state, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had extensively propagated that he would play a big role in the national politics by forming a federal front government at the Centre, if his party was given 16 MP seats.

He already held talks with Janata Dal (S) leaders Deve Gowda and H D Kumara Swamy in Karnataka, DMK president M K Stalin in Tamil Nadu, Biju Janata Dal president Naveen Patnaik in Odisha, Trinamul Congress chief Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal, Jharkhand Mukthi Morcha leader Hemant Soren in Jharkhand, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav in UP etc.

Whenever he talked of federal front, KCR used to take all these names and asserted that he would rope in more regional parties to form a federal front and fight against both the BJP and the Congress.

Till recently, KCR was busy campaigning for the TRS in Telangana. Now that elections are over in the state, the TRS president has got the excellent opportunity to improve the winning chances of his federal front partners so that they would get good numbers to form the next government.

Now that he is free, KCR could as well participate in campaign in support of his federal front partners extensively. But he has not done so, for reasons known only to him.

“Before elections, he claimed that he would bring all the regional parties together under one umbrella against the BJP and the Congress. After talking to so many parties, one wonders why he is silent now. He could as well go to Tamil Nadu to campaign for DMK, Odisha for BJD, West Bengal for TMC and UP for SP-BSP. When he wants all of them to be part of the federal front, doesn’t KCR have the responsibility to campaign for them and help them win more seats?” Congress star campaigner Vijayashanti asked.

She reminded that KCR had claimed full support from JD (S) in Karnataka and went to the extent of saying JD (S) had come to power only because it copied the Telangana schemes.

“Why hasn’t KCR gone to Karnataka to campaign for his friendly party?” she asked.

Vijayashanti gave the answer to her own queries.

“The answer is very clear. KCR’s federal front concept is a humbug. It is only a drama enacted on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party to prevent the Congress party from coming to power at the Centre. It shows KCR is indirectly helping the BJP by dividing the anti-establishment vote,” she asserted.
