Former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao addressed a public meeting in Jagtial on Monday for the first time in nearly a year. The event was organised on the occasion of senior leader Jeevan Reddy joining the party, and it naturally drew significant political attention.
The meeting was especially important as it came just days ahead of his daughter Kavitha’s expected announcement of a new political party. All eyes were on KCR’s speech to see whether he would respond to the developments or make any remarks about Kavitha’s political move.
Adding to the significance, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao also skipped the meeting, ensuring full focus remained on KCR’s presence and message.
However, the spotlight was quickly divided when Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held a parallel public meeting at Nasturapally to launch the second instalment of Rythu Bharosa. The timing of both events led to a direct clash in media attention, reducing the exclusive focus on KCR’s address.
Interestingly, the overlap does not appear to be coincidental, with political circles suggesting that Revanth Reddy’s team may have strategically planned the timing. Both leaders used their platforms to launch strong political attacks against each other, intensifying the ongoing rivalry.
KCR has significantly reduced his public appearances since the BRS defeat in the 2023 Assembly elections, with reports suggesting health concerns as well. He has also stayed away from Assembly sessions, raising questions about his future political engagements.
In this context, Revanth Reddy’s simultaneous public outreach is being seen as a calculated move that shifted the narrative balance on a crucial political day in Telangana.
