A major development unfolded in Telangana politics today as former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) was questioned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in connection with the phone tapping case.

The SIT began its inquiry at KCR’s residence in Nandi Nagar around 3 PM, and the questioning continued for an unexpectedly long duration. During this time, BRS leaders raised objections, stating that investigations involving individuals above the age of 65 should not be conducted beyond 6 PM.

After nearly four and a half hours of questioning, the SIT officials concluded the session and left KCR’s residence at around 7:30 PM. This marked the completion of the first phase of KCR’s examination in the case, which has now become a key focus in the ongoing probe.

Soon after the SIT team departed, KCR held discussions with senior party leaders KTR, Harish Rao, and Praveen Kumar at his residence, reportedly briefing them on the manner in which the investigation was carried out. Sources indicate that the SIT recorded both audio and video statements from KCR during the questioning, which could serve as crucial reference material as the investigation progresses. Further rounds of inquiry are expected in the coming days.
