KCR to skip meeting PM again

Keeping aside political vendettas, the protocol in politics is for the Chief Minister of a state to receive the Prime Minister when the PM happens to visit a particular state. However, Telangana CM KCR seems to be more than comfortable avoiding doing just that, always appointing someone else in his place. The last time PM Modi came to Telangana was for the inauguration of the statue of equality in Shamshabad. KCR not only avoided receiving the PM at the airport but avoided going to the event at the same time as the PM.

Now, KCR is all set to avoid meeting the PM, as the PM is scheduled to arrive in Hyderabad on Thursday to attend the 20th annual celebrations at the Indian School of Business (ISB). KCR is expected to fly down to Bengaluru on Wednesday evening to meet with former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (S) leader H.D. Deve Gowda. This is a part of his national political aspirations, where KCR is trying to form good relations with all the opposition parties of the country, with the exception of the Congress party.

On the other hand, KCR recently toured Delhi, where he met Delhi CM Aravind Kejriwal and even visited a few government schools. KCR has been trying very desperately to assert his hand in national politics, but there hasn’t been any positive response so far. Hence, it is to be seen how far his aspirations will take him.
