Love stories often unfold slowly—like gentle rivers that take their time, yet never lose sight of their destination. For Keerthy Suresh and Antony Thattil, that destination came after a beautiful fifteen-year journey. The actress, who married her longtime partner last year, has now opened up about why they waited so long to tie the knot.
In a heartfelt conversation with actor Jagapathi Babu on his talk show, Keerthy revealed that both she and Antony wanted to achieve stability in their personal and professional lives before committing to marriage. Their relationship began during college days in 2010, starting as a close friendship that gradually blossomed into a lasting bond.
Antony, a businessman with ventures in Kochi and Chennai, spent years working in Qatar, while Keerthy was busy making her mark in the film industry. “We both had dreams to chase first. I wanted to establish myself in cinema, and he wanted to build his business. Once we felt settled, we decided it was time,” she shared.
Keerthy also spoke about the moment she told her father about Antony. “I was nervous at first because of the religious difference between us. But my dad immediately said yes. There were no objections or drama—just support and happiness,” she recalled warmly.
She explained that faith and cultural differences never stood in their way, as both families valued love and understanding above all. Keerthy also took a lighthearted moment to apologize to Jagapathi Babu for not inviting him to the wedding, admitting that he was one of the few people who knew about her relationship early on. “I trusted you enough to tell you, but I couldn’t invite you—and I’m sorry for that,” she said with a smile.
Her sincere words and grounded attitude have touched fans deeply, reminding everyone that true love is not about speed or spectacle—it’s about patience, trust, and quiet strength that stands the test of time.
