Bollywood is Not My Word” – Allu Arjun at Pushpa 2 Event
At the grand success event of Pushpa 2, Allu Arjun delivered a heartfelt speech, expressing deep gratitude to everyone who contributed to the film’s journey. Acknowledging the team’s dedication over five years, he humbly admitted his responsibility as the film’s face, stating, “Hard work is yours, image is mine.”
He extended special thanks to ace choreographer Ganesh Acharya, recognizing his role not just as a dance choreographer but as a mentor who teaches the art of performance and expression. Appreciating his invaluable contributions, Allu Arjun acknowledged the wisdom he had gained under his guidance. He also praised veteran music composer Devi Sri Prasad for his outstanding work on the film.
Addressing the overwhelming support from audiences across India, Allu Arjun expressed his gratitude to all film industries for standing behind Pushpa 2 and making it a true pan-Indian success. He emphasized that he did not want to forget anyone’s contributions and aimed to acknowledge every single person who had been part of the journey. In a significant statement, he clarified his stance on terminology, saying, “I don’t want to call it Bollywood; I would say Hindi cinema. I don’t like the word Bollywood.”
The most emotional part of his speech was dedicated to Pushpa 2’s director, Sukumar. Allu Arjun stated that simply saying ‘thank you’ would never be enough to express his appreciation. “I don’t want to thank Sukumar because ‘thanks’ is not enough. A director is the only one who gives a ‘hit’ despite contributions from all filmmaking faculties. If any song or lyric is good in the film, it is the director’s taste, but the credit must go to the technicians. I thank Sukumar for everything,” he said. Calling for a standing ovation for Sukumar, Allu Arjun moved the crowd, creating a powerful moment of admiration and respect.
Seeing Sukumar become emotional, Allu Arjun tried to comfort him, admitting that he too was holding back tears. His admiration for the director was evident in his words and actions.
Reflecting on the film’s making, Allu Arjun recalled the relentless efforts of the entire 500-member unit, who worked tirelessly for five years. “I got emotional on the final day of the shoot. I wondered how about 500 unit members, who worked so hard, needed Sukumar for five years.” The journey was long and exhausting, but it resulted in a cinematic spectacle that resonated with audiences nationwide.
Celebrating the film’s success, Allu Arjun fondly addressed his fans, promising to deliver an even greater project in the future. “This is a good step, but I want to make you all even more proud,” he assured them. Ending on a lighthearted note, he teased the audience with a subtle hint about Pushpa 3, leaving them eager for what’s to come.
