Telugu states are seeing celebrations due to the big occasion of the birth centenary of the Telugu Desam Party Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. The former Chief Minister of combined Andhra Pradesh was born on the 28th of May and year-long celebrations were planned by the party.
On the eve a massive statue of NTR was planned to get inaugurated at the Lakaram Tank Bund in Khammam. His grandson Jr NTR was also invited to the inauguration. However, ahead of the inauguration ceremony, the statue ran into a big controversy due to various objections.
However, the issue took a big turn as the Telangana High Court issued a stay on the statue’s inauguration. A bunch of writ petitions were filed in the court and the court heard them. After the hearing, the court is said to have imposed a stay on the inauguration until further notice.
A few objections were raised about the statue as it is in the form of Lord Krishna. A few organizations alleged that it had hurt their sentiments and they are not happy with this. Tollywood character artist Karate Kalyani is actively fighting against this and is alleging that the Yadava community is not happy.
However, a few NTR fans are alleging that the community has no issues and people are doing unnecessary caste politics for political gains. Amid this, the High Court imposed a stay on the statue’s inauguration. Now we have to wait and see what the organizers would do next in this regard.
