Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko, recently arrested in connection with a drug case in Kochi, has made several significant revelations during police questioning. In his official statement, Shine admitted to regularly using methamphetamine and occasionally consuming cannabis, particularly when offered on film sets. He emphasized that he never personally arranged drugs for shoots but acknowledged the presence of “special agents” who deliver narcotics to filming locations.

Shine also disclosed that drug usage is not limited to a few individuals and claimed that several prominent actors in the film industry are involved in substance abuse. He expressed frustration that he and another actor are often scapegoated, while others escape scrutiny.

According to his testimony, Shine had gone to the Vedanta Hotel to meet a foreign Malayali woman with whom he had been frequently in contact. He admitted to making transactions related to drugs but claimed he could not recall the identities of those involved or the exact timeline. During the police raid at the hotel, Shine fled the scene, later explaining that he feared an attack by individuals allegedly connected to a past financial dispute involving his father.

The police investigation also uncovered several financial transactions ranging from ₹2,000 to ₹5,000. Shine stated these were personal loans given to acquaintances, not drug payments.

Authorities continue to examine his phone and financial records as part of a broader probe into the drug network within the entertainment industry.
