Bollywood star Kiara Advani is all set to make her debut at the iconic Met Gala in New York this May. Representing India on the global fashion stage, Kiara’s appearance is particularly special as she is five months pregnant with her first child. This year’s Met Gala theme, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”, with a style focus on “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”, draws inspiration from Monica L. Miller’s celebrated book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.
While the official guest list is yet to be confirmed, Kiara’s debut has already created a buzz among fans and fashion circles. A statement from her team described the moment as more than just a style move — it’s a powerful symbol of evolution and representation. “Her debut is not just about style — it is about rewriting narratives, embracing evolution, and showcasing the undeniable force of a woman in her prime,” the statement reads.
Last year, Kiara turned heads at the Red Sea Film Foundation’s Women in Cinema Gala Dinner at Cannes, underlining her growing presence on the international stage. For the Met Gala, she is expected to don a custom creation by Manish Malhotra, her long-time collaborator.
Meanwhile, fellow Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt, who made her Met Gala debut in 2023, may skip the event this year to attend Cannes, representing Gucci from India.
On the work front, Kiara recently opted out of Don 3 and is next set to appear in War 2, alongside Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR.
