It has been several months since one has heard about former chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy. After returning to the Congress party in 2018, he appeared in public on a couple of occasions and later went into oblivion again. For that matter, the Congress party in Andhra Pradesh itself has become defunct with no actions and activities.
Many of its leaders have jumped into other parties, while the cadre is totally disintegrated. Andhra PCC chief N Raghuveera Reddy himself quit the post and disappeared from the scene after the recent assembly elections. The latest report is that the Congress high command is planning to appoint Kiran Kumar Reddy as the president of APCC chief. An order is expected to be issued soon, as part of overhauling of the party all over the country.
The party high command is understood to have considered a few other names like Chinta Mohan and M M Pallam Raju, but finally zeroed in on Kiran Kumar Reddy. However, it is unlikely that Kiran would accept the post as there is nothing much for him to do in the party. It will be an uphill task for Kiran to build the party right from the scratch and bring it to a respectable stage so that it can win a few assembly seats by next elections.
