Kl Rahul Having A Big Day At Lord’s, Adds Few Records To His Name With A Ton

The Indian National Cricket team led by Virat Kohli had missed the chance of winning the first match against the mighty England. When India was in a comfortable situation, the rain had washed away the fifth day resulting in a draw.

The Virat men had started the second match with full dominance. By the end of first day’s play, India made a score of 276 by the loss of three wickets.

KL Rahul had scored a century with 127 and remained unbeaten. With his century at the prestigious Lord’s Stadium, the talented batsman had added a few records to his name.

KL Rahul became the Indian opener to have scored a ton at the Lord’s after three long decades. The last time Indian opener to have scored a ton was Ravi Shaatri. Overall, Rahul is the third opener to add a century to his name at the Lord’s after Vinoo Mankad and Ravi Shastri.

The talented batsman had emerged as the fourth opener from India to have record scores of more than 80. Earlier, Dashing batsman Virender Sehwag, Mr. Dependable Rahul Dravid and Murali Vijay made the same scores in England.

Besides becoming the Indian opener to register second highest centuries outside Overseas, KL Rahul emerged as the first Indian batsman to bag a century in the calendar year of 2021-23 of ICC WTC.

KL Rahul came very close to a century in the first test as well. However, he failed to convey his 80+ score into a ton. But he became unstoppable in the second test.
