In Last Six years, ‘Rich’ Telangana Turns ‘Poor’!

The oppositions in the Telangana have been criticizing TRS government that CM KCR has pushed the state into debts in the last six years. However, CM KCR himself squashed these allegations and added that the state’s financial status is quite stable. But in his first budget of the second term, KCR had stated that the country is going through on economic slowdown and so it had an impact on Telangana too.

The Telangana BJP rubbished KCR’s comments on the economy and said that CM is covering up his inabilities by throwing the blame on the Centre. To get the real facts, Telangana Congress stepped into action. Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has asked about the budget allocations made to Telangana in the last six years.

Finance Minister Niramal Sitharaman has given a written reply to MP Komatireddy’s question. In the year 2014-15, Telangana was a surplus state but in the latter years, the state’s debts have piled up. From the central taxes share, Telangana received Rs 85,013 crore in the last six years. Under states disaster funds Rs 1289.04 crore and local bodies funds of Rs 6511 crore, for the development of backward districts Rs 1916 crore and for rural development Rs 3853 crore were released stated Nirmala in her reply.

Also for union government schemes and grant in aid a sum of Rs 51,298 crore and welfare of women and child Rs 1500.54 crore, were sent to Telangana by the Centre.

The numbers are there and it is up to the Telangana BJP now which is not able to counter TRS leaders allegations that the Centre is not supporting Telangana state by any means.
