Chhava Enters Top 10 Blockbusters, Eyes ₹1,000 Crore Milestone
Even after more than a month since its release, Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhava’ remains unstoppable at the box office. While its weekday collections have slowed down, the film picks up momentum every weekend, drawing audiences back to theaters. A key factor behind its sustained success is the absence of any major Bollywood release in recent weeks, allowing ‘Chhava’ to dominate ticket sales. Even though John Abraham’s ‘The Diplomat’ received positive reviews, it has struggled to translate that buzz into substantial box office numbers.
One of the most remarkable aspects of ‘Chhava’s performance is the Telugu version’s success, which has grossed over ₹15 crore despite a delayed release. Meanwhile, the Marathi version, though performing well, could have aimed for ₹20 crore with a stronger marketing push.
In a major milestone, ‘Chhava’ has now entered the top 10 highest-grossing Indian films, securing the 8th position in net collections. With ₹555 crore, it has surpassed big-ticket films like ‘Animal’ (₹553 crore) and ‘Jawan’ (₹543 crore). The film’s global earnings also paint an impressive picture, with ₹741 crore gross collection and an additional ₹86 crore from overseas markets. This achievement has further cemented Vicky Kaushal’s status as a major box office contender, challenging the dominance of Bollywood’s biggest superstars.
The next big goal for ‘Chhava’ is reaching the ₹1,000 crore gross mark, but the road ahead is challenging. To sustain its momentum, producers are reportedly considering strategic offers, such as “buy one, get one” ticket deals or ₹100 multiplex tickets, to lure audiences back to theaters. If these measures are implemented, they could boost collections significantly.
Meanwhile, Netflix, which holds the streaming rights, is expected to release ‘Chhava’ on its platform in the second week of April, further extending the film’s reach and impact.
As the film continues its triumphant run, all eyes are now on whether ‘Chhava’ can achieve yet another historic milestone in Indian cinema.
