“30 Years Prithvi Apologizes for ‘Laila’ Remarks”
The viral trend of #BoycottLaila has finally led comedian 30 Years Industry Prithviraj to issue an unconditional apology for his comments at the Laila pre-release event.
In a video statement, Prithvi apologized to the public and urged everyone to put an end to the boycott trend. Instead, he requested moviegoers to “welcome Laila” rather than oppose it.
The controversy began when Prithvi made an indirect remark about YCP’s 11 seats, which sparked a wave of backlash on social media, resulting in the boycott calls against Laila. Actor Vishwak Sen had earlier attempted damage control by apologizing in a press meet, but the trend showed no signs of slowing down.
Tensions escalated further when reporters questioned Prithvi about the boycott movement. He was seen reacting aggressively, even using expletives against those trolling him and the film. However, after facing continued backlash, Prithvi has now taken a step back, issuing an apology and assuring that he will refrain from making political remarks at film events in the future.
With his apology out in the open, it remains to be seen whether this will put an end to the controversy or if the boycott trend will continue to affect Laila’s release.
