Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, celebrated for blockbusters like Kaithi, Vikram, Leo, and Coolie, is now making his acting debut. The acclaimed director will be seen as the lead in an upcoming action-romance film titled “DC.”
Directed by Arun Matheswaran, who previously helmed Rocky, Saani Kaayidham, and Captain Miller, the film is being produced by Sun Pictures, marking another collaboration between the banner and Lokesh after Coolie.
The makers recently unveiled a title teaser, introducing Lokesh as Devadas and Wamiqa Gabbi as Chandra, whose initials form the title DC. The teaser sets a dark, gritty, and intense tone, showing Lokesh wielding a knife, while Wamiqa stuns in a bold, commanding avatar. The background score, Ain’t Nobody, composed by Anirudh Ravichander, amplifies the mood perfectly.
DC promises a powerful blend of romance and action, staying true to Arun Matheswaran’s raw storytelling style. Wamiqa Gabbi, known for her performances in Jubilee, 83, Modern Love Chennai, and G2, continues her multilingual journey with this film.
For Lokesh Kanagaraj, DC marks a new chapter as he transitions from behind the camera to the spotlight. The film is slated for a summer 2026 release and is already one of the most anticipated Tamil projects in the coming year.
