Lokesh Rebuts Jagan’s Fake Liquor Allegations

TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh has sharply countered YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s recent accusations that the TDP government is promoting a fake liquor racket in Andhra Pradesh.

During a public address, Jagan alleged that the state had become a hub for counterfeit liquor under the TDP’s watch. He blamed Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for supporting private liquor syndicates and cited a recent bust in Mulakalacheruvu, Annamayya district, claiming that leaders linked to TDP were behind the illegal liquor unit. Jagan went further, stating that one in every three liquor bottles in the state was fake, accusing the government of prioritizing private dealers over public safety.

Responding swiftly, Lokesh dismissed the allegations as baseless and politically motivated. He clarified that it was, in fact, the TDP government that unearthed the racket and arrested those involved, including two party members who were immediately suspended.

Accusing Jagan of hypocrisy, Lokesh reminded him of the Jangareddygudem spurious liquor tragedy during YSRCP’s tenure, where several people lost their lives. “You forgot your five years of misrule and now act like a moral judge,” Lokesh wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

His response quickly gained traction online, drawing praise from TDP supporters for his assertive rebuttal, while YSRCP members stood by Jagan’s remarks, sparking a fresh round of political debate on social media.
