Nara Lokesh’s political journey began with a major challenge when he faced defeat from the Mangalagiri constituency in the 2019 elections. Entering the polls during a strong political wave, Lokesh experienced a setback, but he continued to work consistently in the constituency and eventually secured a remarkable victory in the 2024 elections with a majority of over 91,000 votes.
During his campaign, Lokesh had promised the people of Mangalagiri that he would remain connected with them and continue working for their welfare irrespective of the election outcome. After gaining the confidence of the people, he is now focusing on fulfilling those commitments through various development initiatives.
As part of the housing welfare programme, Lokesh recently distributed permanent house titles to beneficiaries from Mangalagiri and Tadepalli mandals at an event held at the Mangalagiri CK Convention Center. During the programme, he stated that house titles for 3,000 families were provided in the first phase, while another 3,000 beneficiaries received permanent titles in the second phase. The initiative involves land assets worth approximately ₹1,000 crore.
Apart from welfare programmes, Lokesh has been maintaining regular interaction with the people of Mangalagiri through initiatives such as Praja Darbar, ensuring that public concerns are directly addressed. This approach has strengthened his connect with voters and helped establish a strong presence for the Telugu Desam Party in the constituency.
Several development activities are also reportedly progressing under his leadership. Restoration works on neglected lakes and ponds across villages in the constituency are being carried out to improve water quality, reduce pollution, and control mosquito-related issues. Infrastructure projects, including the construction of a 100-bed hospital, development of eco-parks, improvement of burial grounds for different communities, and road repairs, are also underway.
Having faced the challenge of gaining public trust in Mangalagiri, Lokesh is now working to maintain the confidence placed in him by the people. His consistent engagement and focus on constituency development have transformed Mangalagiri into a key stronghold for the TDP, marking a significant shift in the political landscape of the region.
