The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a lookout notice against former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh in connection with a money laundering case.
The lookout circular was issued to prevent the NCP leader from fleeing India. The ED issued the notice after Supreme Court refused to offer him interim relief from coercive action in the lawsuit last month.
Mr Deshmukh came under ED radar after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a corruption case filed against him. He resigned from his Maharashtra Home Minister post in April.
As per reports, Deshmukh collected Rs 4.70 crore from various bars and restaurants in Mumbai with the help of dismissed police officer Sachin Waze. The leader also misused his post while serving as Home Minister.
