Allu Arjun Plans First Malayalam Director Collaboration
Allu Arjun’s fanbase in Kerala is nothing short of legendary. From his early dubbed films to the massive success of Pushpa, Kerala audiences have embraced him as one of their own, even affectionately nicknaming him “Mallu Arjun.” Now, a new wave of excitement is building among fans.
According to the latest reports, Allu Arjun is gearing up for his first-ever collaboration with a Malayalam director. While Bunny initially had projects lined up with Trivikram and Sandeep Reddy Vanga after Pushpa 2, the blockbuster success of Pushpa seems to have reshaped his lineup. His much-anticipated film with Atlee, director of Jawan, has already commenced shooting in Mumbai with Sun Pictures backing the venture. This big-budget entertainer is scheduled for a late 2026 release.
But what’s next for Allu Arjun post-Atlee’s project? The planned mythological film with Trivikram, based on Lord Murugan (Kumara Swamy), has reportedly been handed over to Jr NTR. Meanwhile, Sandeep Reddy Vanga remains occupied with Prabhas’ Spirit and the upcoming sequel Animal Park. As a result, Bunny’s collaborations with these directors have been temporarily put on hold.
Now, here’s where things get truly exciting. Sources reveal that Allu Arjun was recently impressed by a pan-India story narrated by Basil Joseph, the acclaimed Malayalam actor-director best known for Netflix’s Minnal Murali. Allu Arjun is reportedly very keen on moving forward with the project. If things fall into place, the film will be produced by Allu Arjun’s father, Allu Aravind, under the prestigious Geetha Arts banner, with music sensation Jakes Bejoy likely composing the soundtrack.
Basil Joseph has already become familiar to Telugu audiences through his performances in films like Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey and Sookhmadarshini, both of which were well received in Telugu households. If this collaboration materializes, it would be a dream come true for Malayalam fans who passionately follow “Mallu Arjun.”
An official announcement is expected in the second half of this year. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated pan-India venture!
