It is not the first time for a Mahesh Babu starrer to become a laughing stock across social media platforms.
Even diehard fans were shocked when Mahesh posted a tweet saying that “It’s official” that Dookudu has become the biggest hit in Tollywood history (beating Magadheera).
There were numerous instances where ridiculous numbers were printed on ‘official’ posters for Mahesh’s movies.
Even a disastrous flop like Spyder came out with Rs. 150 crore gross posters. And now Maharshi has taken the hyped numbers game to an all new level. This time the numbers are not just printed or tweeted, but being celebrated at public events.
There is desperation in Mahesh this time that even fans are getting miffed with the hyped numbers and ridiculous claims.
Why is Mahesh hell-bent on making people believe that Maharshi is a blockbuster?
Film enthusiasts and analysts believe that Mahesh is under pressure with the competition getting fierce at the top.
Prabhas has set some unbeatable records with Baahubali and gearing up with Saaho. Ram charan has bounced back with Rangasthalam and is currently doing a Rajamouli’s film. Tarak has been consistent and has promising films like #RRR coming up.
Mahesh Babu must be either trying to stay ahead or remain in contention in the race for the numero uno spot. But he should be choosing better films than Maharshi for doing so rather labeling such mediocre films as classics.
If Maharshi is truly a blockbuster like its makers and Mahesh claim, then why is it ending up as a big flop in overseas, the territory that is considered as Mahesh’s forte?
It is not even collecting sixty percent of what Bharat Ane Nenu collected in USA!
