Ace filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli offered rare insight into a personal trait of superstar Mahesh Babu that he believes everyone can learn from. Speaking at the grand title announcement of their upcoming film Varanasi at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, Rajamouli revealed that Mahesh Babu completely disconnects from his phone while at work.
“There is something about Mahesh Babu’s character that stands out,” Rajamouli said. “When he comes to office or shooting, he will not touch his cell phone. He works with full focus for eight hours and only checks his phone after heading back. This is a quality we can all benefit from.”
The event also marked the official unveiling of the film’s title Varanasi, with Mahesh Babu essaying a powerful character named Rudhra. To elevate the experience, the makers released a visually stunning title teaser, which hints at a story that spans multiple time periods and geographical landscapes, with a strong devotional undertone.
Rajamouli shared that the scale of the project demanded a cinematic announcement rather than a traditional press reveal. “For some of my earlier films, I would hold press meets to announce the story. But for Varanasi, words couldn’t do justice to its magnitude. So we decided to create an announcement video instead,” he explained. Despite minor technical delays, the team successfully unveiled the grand teaser, leaving fans enthralled.
With its ambitious storytelling and Mahesh Babu in a striking new avatar, Varanasi has already sparked massive excitement across the industry and among fans worldwide.
