Manchu Lakshmi and Rakul Preet Singh share a long-standing friendship that dates back to Rakul’s early days in Tollywood around Venkatadri Express in 2013. Over the years, they were inseparable—shooting in Hyderabad, food outings, birthday parties, and even collaborating on Lakshmi’s food show Aha Bhojanambu. Fans loved seeing their camaraderie on and off screen.
However, things reportedly changed after Rakul married Bollywood producer Jackky Bhagnani. The duo no longer appears together as frequently, and Lakshmi recently opened up about it on the Male Feminist podcast. She said, “We were super close—holidays, weekend hangouts, small parties. But now, even tiny invites or questions need a ‘Let me ask Jackie first’ check.” She added with a laugh and playful warning, “I’ll wait a year. If nothing changes, I won’t stay quiet. I’ll punish her, seriously, a warning’s coming.” Fans quickly went viral over her cheeky comment.
Professionally, Rakul is doing well. Her recent film De De Pyaar De 2, starring Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan, collected Rs 43.2 crore in India in just four days and crossed Rs 63.4 crore worldwide, holding strong at the box office.
Lakshmi, on the other hand, was last seen in Daksha: The Deadly Conspiracy with Mohan Babu. The film didn’t fare well in theatres but is now streaming on Amazon Prime. She is currently staying in Mumbai, exploring new projects and opportunities in the industry.
